We are a proudly independent restaurant located in the small rural village of Pawlet, Vermont. On the way to Pawlet, you may notice that the stores and bustle give way to pastoral mountain views, winding roads, agriculture, quiet. You’ve arrived at the soul of Vermont – its farming community.

Whether it’s Lake George, Lake St. Catherine, Lake Bomoseen that calls you, be sure to call us for a perfect ending to the day on our post and beam porch! Nothing like a freshly crafted margarita and a couple small plates to graze on! Maybe golf at Manchester, Equinox, Rutland, or Stratton is your thing. We’re not far, and a hand-cut, sizzling steak and a Vermont microbrew beer on draft are sure-fire ways to reminisce. Fishing the Battenkill, or Mettowee, horse back riding in Dorset or Danby, or just soaking up the sunshine, come see what we gather from local gardens and farmers’ markets. And on Wednesdays and Fridays, tap your toes, or dance your heart out to bluegrass, or national touring bands.

No matter the season, The Barn is the quintessential Vermont experience. Couples and families with kids love that it was once an old working dairy barn! Whether local or visiting from out of town, our hand-hewn antique barn with breathtaking views down the Mettowee Valley will keep you coming back.
